Mayimbe performing live @ Melkweg in Amsterdam ! 

This 13-piece Cuban band is led by pianist and composer Bárbaro Fines Fortes. Formally pianist for Charanga Forever, Salsa Mayor, Banda Meteoro and Alaín Daniel. Orquesta Mayimbe has conquered the city of Lima, Perú in an amazingly short time. Lima is famous for its Cuban music scene and Mayimbe now rides at the top of the wave. Timba at its best which is a Cuban genre of music based on popular Cuban music along with salsa, American funk/R&B, and the strong influence of Afro-Cuban folkloric music.
